Who flies surveillance drones in King County?

What we do not know

King County Sheriff

  • The fleet inventory itself (airframe count and cost), which the flight log implies but does not state; in the drafted records request.
  • The mutual-aid terms behind the logged assists to other agencies, and who holds the footage from an assist flight.

What drones are

An unmanned aircraft carrying a camera, flown by a public agency. Where a state classes drones as military equipment, as California does, a public policy and a governing-body vote are required before an agency uses one.
