How to show up in El Dorado County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in El Dorado County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

El Dorado County Board of Supervisors
Watch this oneThis Board adopted the Sheriff's military equipment use policy as Ordinance 5160 in 2022 and approved the county's Flock Safety plate reader contract in 2025.
- When
- Tuesdays at 9:00 AM. The Board does not sit every week, so the Legistar calendar is where the actual dates are.
- Where
- 330 Fair Lane, Building A, Placerville, CA 95667
- Remote
- Meetings are streamed on Zoom and on the county's YouTube channel. A member of the public can comment over Zoom by using the raise-hand button, or by phone by pressing star 9. The county says on every agenda that remote participation is offered for convenience and that attending in person is the only assurance a live comment is received.
- Public comment
- Three minutes per person, at comment periods called by the Chair. A speaker addresses an item once unless the Board agrees otherwise. During noticed public hearings, someone speaking for an organization may ask for up to five minutes.
- Written comment
- By email to the Clerk of the Board at edc.cob@edcgov.us. The county asks for written comment by 4:00 PM on the Monday before the meeting, and says it cannot guarantee that anything arriving on the day of the meeting reaches the Board before the vote.

The county's own website returns a 403 to our fetcher, so everything here was confirmed from the Board's Legistar portal and from the boilerplate the county prints on each agenda. Legistar carries agendas, supplemental materials, minutes and meeting video.

South Lake Tahoe City Council
This council adopted Resolution 2024-033 in March 2024, accepting the police department's 2023 military equipment report and renewing the ordinance behind it. That renewal comes back on an annual cycle.
- When
- Two meetings a month, on Tuesdays. The first meeting of the month begins at 9:00 AM and the second at 5:30 PM. In a month with only one meeting, it begins at 5:30 PM.
- Where
- City Hall, 1901 Lisa Maloff Way, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150
- Remote
- The city live streams council meetings on YouTube and states on its own meetings page that there is no remote participation platform. Someone who wants to speak has to be in the room.
- Public comment
- Speakers are asked to fill in a speaker form, kept on the podium at the back of the Council Chambers, and hand it to the City Clerk. Comment is limited to three minutes.

The city moved from cityofslt.us to cityofslt.gov. Some links on the city's own council page still point at the old domain and do not resolve. The speaker form and the three-minute limit are printed on the council's agendas; the city does not publish an email address for written comment on its council pages, so we do not list one here.
