How to show up in Imperial County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Imperial County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Imperial County Board of Supervisors
Watch this oneThis Board is the governing body for the Sheriff's Office, as the Sheriff's own military equipment report states. Every approval behind the equipment documented in this county is in this Board's record, and none of it has been read. State law also requires the Sheriff to hold a public community engagement meeting within 30 days of publishing that annual report, which is a second scheduled opportunity to be heard.
- When
- Tuesdays at 8:30 AM.
- Where
- Board Chambers, County Administration Center, 940 West Main Street, El Centro, CA 92243
- Remote
- Meetings are webcast live, and the county publishes an audio archive of each one afterwards. The county notes the webcast and the audio archive are a public service and not the official record.
- Public comment
- The public comment period is for items not on the agenda. A speaker fills in a public communications request to speak form and gives it to the Clerk of the Board. An individual gets three minutes; a group or a single topic is capped at fifteen minutes in total.
- Written comment
- — not confirmed
- Who to ask
- Clerk of the Board, 940 West Main Street, Suite 209, El Centro, CA 92243, open 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Friday. County Clerk's Office, 442-265-1020. (checked )
The county publishes audio rather than video of its meetings. Its Granicus host excludes our pipeline in its robots file, so this row was read in a browser, which the county's portal opens to. No per-speaker time limit, written comment address or remote comment option is published there, so those are on the agenda for each meeting. For the official record of a meeting, the county points readers at the County Clerk's Office rather than the recording.

What this list does not cover yet
These are the bodies we have confirmed, not every body in the county. Imperial County has other commissions and committees, and other school and special districts, that we have not documented yet. Several of the county's own committees publish on the same county portal linked above.
