Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Kings County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

- Tuesdays at 9:00 AM. If the Monday is a holiday, that week's Tuesday meeting is cancelled, and the county publishes a list of the dates it will not sit.

The agenda is prepared on the Friday before a Tuesday meeting and goes up after 3:00 PM that day. The county publishes agendas, packets and action summaries as files on its own site rather than through a portal, with older ones on a separate past-packets page. It returns a 403 to our pipeline, so this row was read in a browser. No per-speaker time limit is published. The Board office is closed on Friday afternoons.

Hanford City Council
Watch this oneKings County's camera decisions were made here, and the record is unusually complete. A vendor presented to this council in September 2022 before any proposal existed. In October 2022 the council voted 4-1 to defer rather than buy a 25-camera system. In March 2023 it appropriated $34,200 for twelve cameras at about $30,000 a year, and in August 2023 a camera arrived inside a traffic safety grant.

The council meets in the Civic Auditorium at 400 N. Douty Street; the City Clerk's office is a separate building at 319 N. Douty Street. The city does not publish a per-speaker time limit, a remote participation option, or an address for written comment on its council page. Accommodation and interpretation requests go to the City Clerk at least 48 hours ahead. The city also runs a separate public comment site.
