How to show up in Lake County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Lake County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Lake County Board of Supervisors
Watch this oneThis Board took up four plate reader items between 2021 and 2024: a two-year lease of 26 cameras, a second lease for 19 more, an amendment adding an advanced search feature, and a five-year lease of 26 cameras at up to $342,500. Its agenda system records an outcome for only one of the four. The 2024 agreement is attached and signed, so that lease was executed.

This Board puts a time in the title of individual agenda items, such as "11:15 A.M." or "9:10 A.M.", which is how to work out when a particular item will be heard rather than sitting through the whole meeting. The county's Legistar action data is incomplete: three of its four plate reader items show no recorded outcome at all, so the portal cannot tell a reader what was decided and the minutes have to be read instead. The county does not publish a comment procedure, a per-speaker time limit or a remote option on either its Legistar calendar or its own board page, so those are on each agenda. Agendas are published the week before the meeting, and older documents are in a separate Laserfiche archive.

What this list does not cover yet
These are the bodies we have confirmed, not every body in the county. Lake County has other commissions and committees, and other school and special districts, that we have not documented yet. Several of the county's own committees publish on the same county portal linked above.
