How to show up in Monterey County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Monterey County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Monterey County Board of Supervisors
Watch this oneThe county is the counterparty to the plate reader memorandum of understanding Greenfield's council approved in 2025, so a Board item creating or accepting that arrangement should exist. We have not found it, and no Monterey County Board agenda has been read by this project.
- When
- Regularly each Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Closed session runs first and open session reconvenes later in the morning; the agenda gives the times for each meeting.

- Board Chambers, first floor, Monterey County Government Center, 168 W. Alisal Street, Salinas, CA 93901
- Remote
- The livestream runs on the county's Legistar calendar, on Monterey County TV, on YouTube and on Facebook. To take part rather than watch, join the Zoom meeting by computer or by phone on one of the numbers on the agenda, with meeting ID 224397747 and no participant code, then raise a hand or press star 9 when you want to speak. The county warns that if the Zoom feed drops and is not restored within an hour, the Board may carry on without it.
- Public comment
- Comment can be given in the room or over Zoom. Someone speaking on a matter not on the agenda fills in a speaker request form, available on the rostrum, and gives it to the Clerk before that part of the meeting starts.
- Written comment
- By email to the Clerk of the Board at cob@countyofmonterey.gov by 5:00 PM on the Monday before the meeting, with the meeting body and item number in the subject line. It is then read into the record at the meeting.

The county's own website returns a 403 to our pipeline and several of its board pages have moved, so this row was confirmed from the agenda the Board publishes on Legistar. The county does not print a per-speaker time limit on its agenda. The official agenda and any addendum are also on file in the Clerk's office and posted outside the County Administration Building around the clock.

Greenfield City Council
Watch this oneThis council approved a drone purchase in December 2024 as Resolution 2024-144, and the city paid Paladin Drones $38,500. In March 2025 it took up Resolution 2025-19 and the plate reader memorandum of understanding with the county, framed in the staff report as perimeter cameras with no budget impact. The December vote is on the record; the March one is not, because those minutes have not been read.

- The second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM.

- Remote
- Meetings are carried on Facebook Live and run as a Zoom meeting, with the link and meeting ID on each agenda. Someone on Zoom uses the raise-hand feature during the comment period and is called on by the host to speak aloud.
- Public comment
- Comment can be made in the room, over Zoom, or by email. The period for matters not on the agenda comes after the agenda review, and the council cannot act on what is raised there.
- Written comment
- By email to cityclerk@ci.greenfield.ca.us by noon the day before the meeting, with your name and the item or topic in the subject line, and a separate email for each item. Email that arrives on time goes into the agenda and the record; email that is late is not accepted. Nothing sent by email is read aloud, and the city warns that written comment, including the sender's name, can become public information.

The city does not publish a per-speaker time limit, on its council page or on its agendas. Accessibility arrangements need 48 hours' notice to the City Clerk. Greenfield is one of the few small California cities whose minutes we have read rather than only its staff reports, which is why its December 2024 drone decision is documented as decided rather than as proposed.
