How to show up in Orange County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Orange County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Orange County Board of Supervisors
Watch this oneThe Sheriff's plate reader policy requires a sharing agreement with any agency given access to the department's searches, and a separate agreement with any business or homeowners' association whose cameras are used. Neither class of agreement has been located, and the policy does not say who approves the second kind. Any item approving one is what to watch for here.

- The second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:30 AM.
- Where
- Board Hearing Room, First Floor, Hall of Administration, 333 W. Santa Ana Boulevard, Santa Ana, CA 92701
- Remote
- Meetings are streamed live from the county's agendas page, and the public can register to take part remotely as well as in person.
- Public comment
- A speaker registers through the Board's speaker portal, which opens one hour before the meeting starts, choosing in person or remote. Someone already in the room can instead fill in a speaker request form kept beside the agendas in the Board Hearing Room. A speaker may address the Board on up to three occasions in a meeting, three minutes each time.

Agendas are posted on the Wednesday two weeks before a regular Tuesday meeting, and modifications on the Friday before it. The registration window is the thing to know: it opens an hour before the meeting and not earlier. Parts of the county's board site refuse our pipeline, and one page refuses a browser too; the agendas page opens.
