How to show up in San Bernardino County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in San Bernardino County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Watch this oneEvery plate reader decision this county has taken since 2016 is in this Board's own record, with a vendor and an amount. The two most recent, a 2023 Flock data-sharing memorandum and a 2025 Flock master service agreement, both passed on the consent calendar under the Sheriff's heading. The Board also takes up the Sheriff's military equipment report every year, which is the reliable recurring hook for equipment questions here.

- From August 2026 the public can give comment remotely by telephone. Registering online is what puts a speaker in the phone queue, and a phone number is required to do it.
- Public comment
- A speaker registers. Online registration opens at 8:30 AM on the day of a regular meeting, through the county's separate public participation site, where the speaker says whether they will be in the room or on the phone and picks the items they want to speak to. There are also registration kiosks outside the Board Chambers before the meeting starts.
- Written comment
- Once the agenda is posted, by the county's online comment form, by email to BoardMeetingComments@cob.sbcounty.gov, or by post to the Clerk of the Board, 385 N. Arrowhead Avenue, 2nd Floor, San Bernardino, CA 92415. Comment arriving before the meeting starts goes to the Board and is posted online. Comment arriving during the meeting reaches the Board after it adjourns. Anything outside that window is treated as general correspondence and is not attached to the meeting.
The agenda is published at least 72 hours before the meeting. This county's Legistar tenant is a real archive rather than a listing: over a hundred agendas and minutes since 2022, with matters reaching back to 1997. The county does not publish a per-speaker time limit. Because plate reader contracts here have arrived as consent items under a department heading, the consent calendar is where to read rather than the discussion items.
