How to show up in Santa Barbara County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Santa Barbara County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Watch this oneNo decision by this Board on surveillance has been read. It is the governing body for the Sheriff's Office and therefore where any equipment purchase or military equipment policy has to appear.

- Tuesdays at 9:00 AM, with recess weeks marked on the calendar.
- Where
- The Board alternates between two buildings a hundred miles apart. Most meetings are in the Board Hearing Room on the fourth floor of the County Administration Building, 105 East Anapamu Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101. Others are in the Board Hearing Room at the Joseph Centeno Betteravia Government Administration Building, 511 East Lakeside Parkway, Santa Maria. The calendar says which building each meeting is in.

Checking which building a meeting is in is the thing to do first here: the two hearing rooms are about ninety minutes' drive apart. The county does not publish a per-speaker time limit on its calendar, so that is on the agenda for each meeting.
