How to show up in Tuolumne County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Tuolumne County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

- Tuesdays at 9:00 AM, on a schedule the county publishes each calendar year. Special meetings are called as needed.
- Where
- Board Chambers, County Administration Center, 4th floor, 2 S. Green Street, Sonora, CA 95370. The county says to check each agenda for the location, because special meetings are sometimes held elsewhere.
- Remote
- Access Tuolumne carries a livestream on Comcast Cable 8, Sierra Nevada Communications 17.8 in Groveland, apps for iPhone, Roku and Apple TV, and at accesstuolumne.org. The county's Board Meetings page says the public cannot comment through Access Tuolumne, and describes the livestream as a courtesy.
- Public comment
- The procedure is printed on each agenda, which the county names as the authority. Its Board Meetings page directs anyone who still has questions after reading the agenda to call the Board of Supervisors Office.
- Written comment
- The county's public portal has its comment-submission feature switched off. Its help text says "we are not using the Meeting Media or the Submit Comments functions", so written comment goes through the clerk's office rather than the portal.

Minutes have been produced in "action only" format since 22 April 2025, so what was said in the room is in the video rather than the written record. Meetings before February 2026 are on the county's older Granicus archive, not the portal linked here.

Watch this oneApproved the county's second body-camera deployment, six units for Probation, as part of the FY26/27 budget in April 2026. This was a committee decision rather than a Board of Supervisors item.

Sonora City Council
Watch this oneSonora's two license plate reader cameras were funded through the city budget. The council declined staff requests to expand the program in 2023 and again in 2025.

- First and third Monday of the month at 5:00 PM. When the Monday is a holiday the meeting moves to the following Tuesday. Special meetings are called as needed.

- Council Chambers, City Hall, 2nd floor, 94 N. Washington Street, Sonora, CA 95370
- Remote
- The city says meetings are open to the public and also available by Zoom, and that the Zoom link is inside each agenda rather than on the website. A live stream runs on the city's site while a meeting is in progress.

- The city publishes its procedure on each agenda. Its agenda notice says the public may address the council on items not on the agenda during the public appearance portion, and that matters raised this way are referred to staff or placed on a later agenda.

Sonora Union High School District Governing Board
A district superintendent told a Sonora city council stakeholder session in August 2024 that the district had eight new cameras with facial recognition. We have not found a board item for that purchase.

The district publishes through Simbli, which puts agendas behind a viewer rather than on pages a search engine can read. You can reach the agendas from the link here, but you cannot search them by keyword from outside, so finding an item means opening meetings one at a time. The portal carries a "Governing Board Meeting Schedule" link and lists agendas prior to October 2019 separately.
