How to show up in Ventura County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Ventura County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Watch this oneNo surveillance decision by this Board has been read. Its own archive runs from 2003, with an index of Board records going back to 1873, which makes it one of the deepest unread records in the state.
- When
- Tuesdays at 8:30 AM.
- Where
- The county publishes its meeting location with each agenda rather than as a standing address. The Clerk of the Board is at 800 S. Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009.
- Remote
- Meetings are streamed live from the county's meetings page and on the county's Facebook page. Remote comment is taken over Zoom, by video or by phone, under the state law that requires it. The county publishes a separate policy for what happens when remote access is disrupted.
- Public comment
- Three minutes per speaker per agenda item, and three minutes in the general comment period at the start for matters not on the agenda. The Chair can shorten either depending on how many people want to speak. Zoom registration is strongly encouraged for both remote and in-person comment; someone attending in person pre-registers, then checks in with Clerk of the Board staff on arrival and goes to the podium when their name is called. Anyone wanting to show slides or play audio on county equipment has to give the material to the Clerk at least 24 hours ahead.
- Written comment
- By email to clerkoftheboard@venturacounty.gov or by post to the Clerk of the Board, 800 S. Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009, by noon the day before the meeting, with the agenda item number in the subject line. Written comment is a public record and is released unredacted in response to a records request, so the county advises against including contact details you do not want public.

The county's site returns a 403 to our pipeline, so this row was read in a browser. Agenda documents are served from a separate county portal. Everything given to the Board about an agenda item, including comment emails and letters, is posted online afterwards.
