How to show up in Yolo County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Yolo County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Watch this oneYolo County renews its military equipment ordinance on an annual cycle, with the Sheriff's report attached, which makes this Board the one predictable public checkpoint in the county. Its 2026 agenda also carried a five-year, $794,434 Axon agreement for the District Attorney.

- Typically Tuesdays at 9:00 AM.

- Remote
- The county streams meetings live and archives the video, with English and Spanish closed captioning. It also runs a Zoom teleconference. Someone on Zoom raises a hand to comment; someone on the phone presses star 9. The county says it can carry on without remote access if the feed fails.

- Two minutes per speaker, whether in the room or joining remotely.

- By email to clerkoftheboard@yolocounty.gov or by mail to 625 Court Street, Room 204, Woodland, CA 95695, by 4:00 PM the Monday before the meeting. Comment sent by then is attached to its agenda item. Later comment is distributed to Board members and made public after the Clerk's office opens the next morning. Written comment is filed in the record and is not read aloud.

The county's website returns a 403 to our pipeline, so this row was confirmed by reading the county's pages in a browser. Yolo publishes each item as its own page stating what the Board was asked to approve; those pages do not record the vote, so the minutes are what a reader needs to find out what happened. Purchases here have arrived as budget and fixed-asset items rather than as surveillance items, which is why the consent calendar and the budget matter as much as any agenda heading.

Davis City Council
Watch this oneDavis has a surveillance technology ordinance, municipal code chapter 26.07, and this council reauthorizes the city's surveillance technology under it every year. The 2024 packet put the count at 20 different types of technology to review and reauthorize in one item.
- When
- Tuesdays at 6:30 PM, most commonly the first and third Tuesday of the month, with more meetings added as needed. The council adopts its calendar by resolution each year and says the schedule can change.

- Community Chambers, City Hall, 23 Russell Boulevard, Davis, CA 95616, at the corner of Russell Boulevard and B Street
- Remote
- Meetings are streamed on the city's meeting videos page, about 20 seconds behind real time, and televised live on the City of Davis Government Channel with closed captions. The city runs a Zoom meeting for people who want to take part, with the link and call-in numbers printed on each agenda.
- Public comment
- Comment is taken live from the room and over Zoom, announced by the Mayor. A speaker gives their name, the agenda item number and their comment in two minutes or less. Anyone using a translator gets twice the allotted time. On Zoom, use the raise-hand reaction.
- Written comment
- By email to citycouncilmembers@cityofdavis.org, including the meeting date, the agenda title or number, and the comment. The city says the deadline varies by meeting and points readers to the agenda for that meeting.

Davis Police Accountability Commission
Watch this oneUnder the city's surveillance ordinance this commission receives the annual surveillance technology reports 75 days before they reach the City Council. That makes it the first public room the reauthorization passes through, and the earliest point at which a resident can raise an objection to it.

Woodland City Council
Watch this oneIn February 2026 this council adopted Resolution 8609, a co-termed Flock Safety contract, on a 5-0 vote. The item was on the consent calendar and reached the floor only because a councilmember pulled it off. The contract runs two years, which puts the next decision in early 2028.

- Remote
- Meetings are carried on Woodland TV channel 20 and streamed. From 1 July 2026 all council meetings are hosted on Zoom, with the link and an optional phone number printed on the first page of each agenda, and the public can comment online or by phone.

- The city does not publish a per-speaker time limit on its meetings page, so the agenda for a given meeting is where to check it.
- Written comment
- By email to CouncilMeetings@cityofwoodland.gov, with the agenda item number or letter, or marked as general public comment. Anything received at least two hours before the meeting starts goes into the record for that meeting and is posted to the city's website. Anything later reaches the council the following day.

Agendas go to council members and the public no later than the Friday before a regular Tuesday meeting. The meeting schedule and the Council Chambers address are set in the city's own municipal code rather than only on a web page.
