Salmon
Lemhi County’s seat, a city of about three thousand people where the Lemhi River meets the Salmon, and the only city of any size in the county. The Salmon Police Department is based here, at the City Center on Main Street, and so are the county courthouse, the county jail and the Sheriff’s dispatch center that answers every 911 call in the county.
Two equipment grants described to the county’s Board of County Commissioners in 2026 belong to this city: one for license plate readers, and one of $400,000 for body cameras, in-car cameras, jail cameras and prosecutor video management, which the city invited the county to apply for jointly.
The City Council publishes its agendas from 2022 and its minutes from 2023 on the city’s website. None of those documents has been read for this project.
