How to show up in Churchill County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Churchill County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Churchill County Board of County Commissioners
Watch this oneThe Sheriff's Office asked this board to fund Flock plate readers, five cameras around the perimeter of the community, and the budget process took the increase back out. The same request has come back in other forms. This is the board that decides whether Churchill County gets plate readers at all, and the decision is being made in budget worksheets rather than in a contract vote, which is a harder place for a resident to watch.
- When
- Roughly twice a month, in the first and third week. The day genuinely varies: across 112 agendas we read, 48 fell on a Wednesday and 50 on a Thursday, with a handful on other days, and the start time is usually 8:15 a.m. but is sometimes 1:15 p.m. Check the posted agenda rather than assuming a pattern.
- Where
- Churchill County Administrative Building, Commission Chambers, 155 North Taylor Street, Suite 145, Fallon, printed at the top of every agenda.
- Remote
- Meetings are webcast live on the county's YouTube channel. The agendas give the streams page rather than a per-meeting link.
- Public comment
- You can comment at the meeting, or by email in advance to the two deputy clerks named on every agenda, no later than 4:30 p.m. the day before. The agendas note that the board "reserves the right to impose uniform time limits upon matters devoted to public comment" in the interest of time, so the limit is not fixed in advance. Every agenda also states that action will be taken on all items unless otherwise noted, and that items may be taken out of the order printed.

The county's record is on CivicClerk, not on the CivicPlus AgendaCenter its website still carries, whose newest document is from September 2022. The CivicClerk tenant serves every county body, so a sweep of it returns the Planning Commission and Highway Commission alongside the Commissioners. Of 1,545 documents fetched since January 2023, 1,085 were readable and 459 are scans with no text layer. That is the highest unreadable share of any Nevada county we have researched, and it includes the minutes for at least one meeting where a camera purchase was decided.
