How to show up in Storey County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Storey County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Storey County Board of Commissioners
Watch this oneWatch this board now rather than later. On 4 August 2026 it held a workshop on county policies, codes and contractual agreements governing license plate readers, naming “Flock” camera monitoring systems but not limiting itself to them, with the Sheriff and the public in the room. A resident had handed the commissioners his own draft ordinances two weeks earlier. Nevada has no state plate reader law, so whatever this board writes is the whole of the rule. What it decided is not published yet.
- When
- Twice a month, on the first and third Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m., which is the pattern every agenda we read follows. The board recesses within the same meeting to sit as the Highway Board and the Fire Protection District Board, so those bodies are on the same agenda rather than separate ones.
- Where
- 26 South B Street, Virginia City, Nevada, printed at the top of every agenda.
- Remote
- Recent agendas state the meeting is held in person only. Check the posted agenda for that meeting before relying on a remote option.
- Public comment
- Public comment is taken at the start and again at the end, and the minutes name who spoke and summarise what they said. Some items are marked "No Action - No Public Comment" on the agenda itself, so read the item's label before you plan around it.
- Written comment
- — not confirmed
- Who to ask
- Storey County Clerk's Office, 775-847-0969, which the agendas name for supporting documents. (checked )
The agenda packets are the readable record and they are large, several hundred thousand characters each, carrying the previous meeting's minutes as text along with staff reports. Separate Minutes documents run only to 7 July 2026, so for anything more recent than that the minutes arrive inside a later packet. Fifty-two documents in the set we read have no text layer at all.

What this list does not cover yet
These are the bodies we have confirmed, not every body in the county. Storey County has other commissions and committees, and other school and special districts, that we have not documented yet. Several of the county's own committees publish on the same county portal linked above.

Read what is already on the record for Storey County first. A resident who has read the contract changes the room.
