White Pine County Board of County Commissioners
There is very little surveillance to watch for in this county, and that is the reason to keep an eye on it rather than a reason not to. The cameras White Pine has bought are for vandalism, funded by its insurance pool and its airport budget. If a plate reader or a body camera contract ever arrives here, it will arrive at this table, and on current evidence it would be the first.
- When
- Twice a month, usually the second and fourth Wednesday, at 9:00 a.m. That is the pattern 89 of the 103 board agendas we read follow, with 81 falling in the second or fourth week. The board sits jointly as the Road Commission and the Fire Commission, so that business is on the same agenda.
- Where
- White Pine County Library Conference Room, 950 Campton Street, Ely, printed at the top of the agendas we read. Some meetings are held elsewhere in the county, so check the posted agenda.
- Remote
- Zoom, with the meeting link, ID and passcode printed on each posted agenda, plus a dial-in number. We do not reproduce them here because they change.
- Public comment
- Three minutes per person. The agendas state that public comment "will be for all matters, both on and off the agenda and will be limited to three (3) minutes per" person. Agendas also note that items may be considered in any order, and that the board may combine items or remove one at any time, so arriving for a specific item means arriving early.

The county's CivicPlus AgendaCenter serves documents plainly and refuses nothing. Of 308 documents fetched from the Commissioners, Local Emergency Planning Committee and Telephone Emergency Reporting 911 Advisory Committee categories since January 2023, 286 were readable and 22 were not, 21 of those being scans with no text layer. The same portal also carries the town councils of Lund, McGill and Ruth, which is where the smallest camera decisions in the county surface.
