How to show up in Linn County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Linn County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Albany City Council
Watch this oneAlbany is where Linn County's documented surveillance is. The police department publishes a policy titled "License Plate Recognition System" and operates automated red light and speed enforcement cameras, and this Council is the body that authorizes and funds both.

- City Council meetings are held on Wednesdays at 6:00 PM, roughly twice a month, with work sessions on some Mondays at the same hour. The council page lists upcoming dates.

- Council Chambers, Albany City Hall, 333 Broadalbin Street SW, Albany, Oregon 97321.
- Remote
- Meetings are watchable online, and you can register to speak remotely rather than only watch, by using the Public Comment button on the Meeting Materials page before noon on the day of the meeting. Screen sharing is not permitted during public comment.
- Public comment
- In person, use the sign-up sheet on the table just inside Council Chambers, then sit at the table to speak and state your name and whether you live or work in Albany. Speakers are limited to three minutes. The city notes plainly that "Public Comment is not required by Oregon law and may not be scheduled on every agenda", so check the agenda before you travel. For a public hearing, email written testimony to the staff contact named in the agenda or public notice before noon on the day of the meeting.
