Marion County Sheriff
- The SB 1516 section 7 policies for this system. The agreement predates the Act; the policies it requires are separate documents nothing the county publishes contains.
- The county's own vendor contract with REKOR, which section 6.1 requires it to maintain, and the number and locations of county cameras.
- The section 6 vendor figures, including who beyond the three parties can query the data.
- Retention in practice, which the agreement leaves to no one.
What license plate readers are
An automated license plate reader photographs every passing vehicle and records the plate, the time and the place. It does not watch suspects. It logs everyone, and the record is usually kept on a vendor’s servers.
