How to show up in Polk County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Polk County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Polk County Board of Commissioners
Watch this oneUnusually for the counties on this site, comment here is for items that are not on the agenda, so a resident can raise plate readers with this Board without first getting them listed. That is the open question in this county and this is the room for it.
- When
- Board meetings are held on Wednesdays and work sessions on Tuesdays, both starting at 9:00 AM.
- Where
- Courthouse Conference Room, Polk County Courthouse, 850 Main Street, Dallas, Oregon.
- Remote
- The county's agendas refer to participating in the meeting virtually and ask people needing accommodation to call the Board office at least 24 hours ahead. We did not find a standing link or dial-in printed on the agendas we read, so call the Board office to arrange it.
- Public comment
- Comment is taken near the top of the meeting, for items not on that day's agenda, and is limited to three minutes. The county's own wording encourages community members to engage, and asks speakers to avoid vulgar or threatening language.

The portal's four categories publish 2025 and 2026 only. That is the county's whole online archive, not a limit we chose, and it means anything older has to be requested rather than browsed. We read three of the four categories in full. There is no city record here for Dallas, Independence or Monmouth, and nothing from the Grand Ronde Tribal Police Department.

What this list does not cover yet
These are the bodies we have confirmed, not every body in the county. Polk County has other commissions and committees, and other school and special districts, that we have not documented yet. Several of the county's own committees publish on the same county portal linked above.
