How to show up in Bell County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Bell County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Bell County Commissioners Court
Watch this oneEvery county surveillance purchase on this county's pages was approved or noticed here. The two plate reader resolutions, the jail cameras and the annual Axon renewal all sat inside the consent block, the batch of items the Court can approve in one motion without separate discussion. The largest of them was a lettered entry in an alphabetical list of contract renewals.
- When
- Mondays at 9:00 a.m. The Court's own agenda series carries between 37 and 48 meetings a year, so most Mondays and not all. Check the county's agenda page rather than assuming a given Monday.
- Where
- The Commissioners' Courtroom, Bell County Courthouse, 101 East Central Avenue, Belton, which is the address every meeting notice in the series gives.
- Remote
- Meetings are live-streamed by video conference from the county's own website, and the recording is posted afterwards. An archive of past meeting video is on the county's Swagit tenant.
- Public comment
- Under the Court's meeting rules and protocols any person may comment at the meeting on any item listed on the agenda. To comment over the video link, register by emailing the County Clerk at least one hour before the 9:00 a.m. start, and you are sent connection instructions. You do not need to register to watch.

Agendas are posted as PDF files by year, back to 2011. The county's page says agendas and minutes before 2011 are kept at the County Clerk's office and must be requested there. Minutes are posted for nearly every meeting from January 2011 to 16 December 2019, each item recorded as a numbered Minute Order with the mover, the seconder and the result. We did not find posted minutes for regular meetings after that date, so for recent years the agenda tells you what was proposed and the video is where the outcome is.

What this list does not cover yet
These are the bodies we have confirmed, not every body in the county. Bell County has other commissions and committees, and other school and special districts, that we have not documented yet. Several of the county's own committees publish on the same county portal linked above.
