How to show up in Fort Bend County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Fort Bend County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Fort Bend County Commissioners Court
Watch this oneEvery county surveillance purchase and agreement on this county's pages was approved here. The largest arrive as Purchasing items and are often approved together with a dozen or more other lettered items in one motion. Flock access agreements, utility district agreements and camera permits have often gone through on the consent agenda. Plate reader licenses have also arrived under a title that does not mention plate readers.

- The second and fourth Thursday of each month at 1:00 PM, according to the county's schedule page, which also lists any planned changes. Special sessions and budget workshops are posted separately.
- Where
- Second floor, Fort Bend County Courthouse, 401 Jackson Street, Richmond, TX 77469.
- Remote
- Meetings are livestreamed on the county website under Commissioners Court, LIVE Streaming Video. Past meetings are linked from the agenda listing. Speaking is in person.
- Public comment
- Public Comments regarding the Agenda and Announcements is item 4 on the agenda. To speak on an agenda item, submit a Public Participant Form at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the meeting, then check in with the Court Services team when you arrive. The Court's rules limit each speaker to three minutes.
- Written comment
- No written comment procedure is stated on the agenda. The Public Participant Form instructions are on the Commissioners Court webpage.
The agenda listing on the Commissioners Court Online page lets you pick a month and year, and links the agenda, the minutes and the video for each meeting. The minutes are the document to read. Each item appears in full, followed by the commissioner who moved it, the commissioner who seconded it, the vote, and links to the signed contract or quote. The listing also has a keyword search of item titles.
