How to show up in Kaufman County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Kaufman County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Kaufman County Commissioners Court
Watch this oneEvery surveillance decision this county has on record with a vote behind it was made here, and both of them went through in under a minute. The $1,506,691.03 Axon contract for Constable Precinct 2 was item 8 of twenty-four on a thirty-nine minute morning. Constables and the Sheriff are separately elected and bring their own purchases to this table, so the equipment arrives under an officer's name rather than a department budget. For anything bought before 15 July 2025 there is no readable record of the meeting at all.
- When
- Every Tuesday at 9:00 in the morning. Agendas are posted three business days before the meeting, on the county website and on the board at the Kaufman County Justice Center.
- Where
- The Courthouse Annex Courtroom, 100 N Washington Street, Kaufman. The county's main address, the Kaufman County Justice Center at 1902 E. US Highway 175, is a different building.

- Fill in a Public Participation Form. Each speaker gets three minutes, timed by the County Clerk or another designated representative of the Court, and a speaker who is yielded time by others may go on for up to nine minutes. To get an item onto the agenda, ask your precinct Commissioner or the County Judge at least seven days before the meeting.

The record is split across two places and neither is complete. The county's own agenda portal carries agendas for 2025 and 2026 and minutes only for the second half of 2025. The minutes for 2026 are published through the county's Swagit video channel instead, where each meeting row carries a Minutes link beside the video. Many of the agendas are scans rather than text, and the attachments that carry the prices are inside them, so a purchase can be invisible to a search of the agenda and plainly priced on page twenty-four of the same file. The Court's agendas and minutes from before 15 July 2025 are on a separate system the county links to and does not host. Meetings are streamed and archived back to July 2018. There is no remote comment.

What this list does not cover yet
These are the bodies we have confirmed, not every body in the county. Kaufman County has other commissions and committees, and other school and special districts, that we have not documented yet. Several of the county's own committees publish on the same county portal linked above.
