How to show up in Williamson County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Williamson County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Williamson County Commissioners Court
Watch this oneEvery county surveillance purchase on this county's pages was approved here, and most of them sat inside the consent block, the batch of routine items the Court disposes of in one motion. The five plate reader cameras, the phone cracking software and the contract acknowledgment that names no equipment were all consent items. The one time a member of the Court pulled one out, in May 2022, is the one time a resident spoke about plate readers before the vote.
- When
- Normally Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. The Court's own order says its regular meeting day is each Tuesday of every month and that everything else is a special session. Check the agenda page rather than assuming a given Tuesday.
- Where
- The Commissioners Courtroom, second floor, Williamson County Courthouse, 710 Main Street, Georgetown. The Court's offices are at a different address, 1848 Texas Trail, so go to the courthouse for the meeting.
- Remote
- Meetings are streamed live and the recordings are kept in a Commissioners Court archive on the county's video site. You do not need to register to watch. Speaking is in person.
- Public comment
- Fill in a Public Participation Form and hand it to the Court's Bailiff at least ten minutes before the meeting starts. Speakers give their name and their city and county of residence. On something not on the agenda you get two minutes, with ten minutes for that period in total, divided among everyone who signed up if more than five people did. On an agenda item you get three minutes, or five minutes in total if you want to speak on more than one item, and any single item is capped at thirty minutes of public discussion, split between those for and those against if more than ten people want it. The Court can lengthen either cap by majority vote.

Agendas and minutes are posted for every meeting back to 1997 and the minutes are the useful document: each one records who was present, then every item in order with its text, the mover, the seconder and each member's vote by name, with the fiscal impact table where money moves. Items are listed with the names of the documents filed with them, and those documents are linked separately rather than printed in the minutes. We read the minutes for 9 April 2013 to 15 September 2026 and did not read the earlier ones.
