How to show up in Calaveras County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Calaveras County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Watch this oneAdopted the Sheriff's military equipment ordinance in 2022 and has renewed it four times since, each renewal on the consent calendar.

- Second and fourth Tuesdays. The start time is not fixed. The county's own portal calendar for 2026 lists some meetings at 8:00 AM and others at 9:00 AM, so the agenda is the only reliable word on when a given meeting begins.

- Board of Supervisors Chambers, County Government Center Building A, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, CA 95249.
- Remote
- Zoom, through a registration link printed on each agenda under Call to Order. You join muted and raise a hand during the comment period to speak. The Clerk's YouTube channel carries the video for anyone who wants to watch without commenting.
- Public comment
- Three minutes per speaker, in the room or over Zoom. The agenda says you may give general public comment, comment on an agenda item, or ask that an item be taken off the consent calendar for discussion.
- Written comment
- Email the Clerk of the Board at bosclerk@calaverascounty.gov by 4:00 PM the day before the meeting. The agenda asks for 300 words or fewer and for the agenda item number. Comments sent this way are included in the minutes and forwarded to the Board before it meets.

Watch this oneAn executive committee chaired by the Chief Probation Officer. Its spending plan carries equipment and technology requests from the Sheriff's Office, decided here rather than at the Board of Supervisors.

The committee's own agendas say copies of agendas, minutes and supporting documents are available on the county meetings website. We checked that calendar and the committee is not listed on it. The county's meetings page says not all county meetings appear there and asks the public to contact the department responsible. The committee has a county web page, at ccp.calaverasgov.us, but that page carries no agendas, and the newest document on it is an implementation plan dated 16 December 2024. The most recent agenda we could find anywhere was for 13 September 2024, and we reached it through a search engine rather than from any county index. Calling Probation is the only route we can confirm.

Calaveras Unified School District Governing Board

- Thursdays, with closed session at 5:30 PM and open session at 6:00 PM. The district publishes a board meeting calendar for each year as a PDF rather than a standing rule, so the calendar is the place to check which Thursdays.

- To put an item on the agenda the district asks for a request form one week before the meeting. We could not find a published address for written comment on an item already on the agenda.

Agendas are posted the Friday before a Tuesday meeting and the Monday before a Thursday meeting. The board meeting page gives the district's PO box rather than the room the board sits in, and we could not confirm the meeting room from the district's website. Agenda files are served from a separate file host rather than listed on the page itself.

Watch this oneApproved the city's ten-year Axon agreement 5-0 in July 2026. It covers body cameras, an AI report-writing assistant, and three fixed license plate readers.

- Angels Fire House, 1404 Vallecito Road, Angels Camp. The agenda says in-person seating is limited and taken first come, first served. City Hall is at 200 Monte Verda Street Suite B.

The agenda carries a comment period before the closed session and another at the start of the regular meeting, both open to any matter within the city's jurisdiction whether or not it is on the agenda. The council takes no action on an off-agenda comment, and may refer it to staff or put it on a later agenda.
