How to show up in Blaine County
Surveillance is approved by people who hold public meetings any resident can attend. This page lists the bodies that do that in Blaine County, what we have confirmed about attending each one, and where each publishes its agendas.
We do not publish meeting dates. A schedule we cannot check often enough would eventually send someone to the wrong place on the wrong night. Each body below links to wherever it publishes its own agendas and schedule, and that is the copy to trust.

Blaine County Board of County Commissioners
Watch this oneThis is the body that holds the county's purse, and the body whose published record from January 2022 to September 2026 does not name the plate reader system the Sheriff's Office describes in its own press releases. It approved the mutual assistance compact with sixteen other sheriff's offices in June 2026.

- Tuesdays, with special and budget meetings called on other days. The agenda runs on a clock: public comment at 9:00, department reports through the morning, a break at noon, land use and building services hearings from 1:30.
- Where
- Old Blaine County Courthouse, 206 First Avenue South, Hailey
- Remote
- A Microsoft Teams link and a dial in number are printed at the top of every agenda. The agenda states that remote access is a courtesy rather than a substitute for being in the room, and that anyone prevented from commenting by a technical problem bears the risk that their comments will not be considered.

- The first item of the day, at 9:00.

Bellevue Common Council
Watch this oneThe body that authorized the Bellevue Marshal's two plate readers by resolution in March 2025, and the body that has argued about them at four meetings since March 2026.
- When
- Monday evenings at 5:30 PM, the second and fourth Monday of the month.
- Where
- Council Chambers, Bellevue City Offices, 115 East Pine Street, Bellevue
- Remote
- The city posts meeting video, and its minutes carry a video timestamp against each item.
- Public comment
- A standing public comment item for matters not on the agenda, limited to three to five minutes.
- Written comment
- Written comment on a public hearing item goes to the City Clerk by noon on the day of the meeting. Agendas are published in English and Spanish.

Agendas and packets carry a text layer. Minutes are published as signed scans, which means they cannot be searched as text and a reader looking for a past decision has to open them one at a time. Packets reprint the previous meeting's minutes, which is usually the faster route.

Hailey City Council
Watch this oneThe body that approved the Hailey Police Department's three plate readers in September 2025, and the body residents have come back to three times since July 2026 to ask for their removal.

- Monday evenings at 5:30 PM, generally the second and fourth Monday of the month, moving to Tuesday when a Monday is a holiday.
- Where
- Hailey City Hall Meeting Room, 115 Main Street South, Hailey. Some meetings are held in the Hailey Town Center Meeting Room instead; the agenda names the room.
- Remote
- GoToMeeting, with the link, a dial in number and an access code printed on every agenda.
- Public comment
- An Open Session for Public Concerns at the top of the meeting, straight after the call to order.

The city keeps its whole council record on one page, by year: agendas and packets back to 2006 and minutes back to 2005. The minutes are timestamped through the meeting, so they record who said what and when rather than only the motions.

Ketchum
What we have documented in Ketchum

Ketchum City Council
The body that ended a seventeen year policing contract with the Sheriff in April 2026 and stood up the city's own police department in August. Residents have put a drafted privacy and surveillance ordinance in front of it as written public comment.

- Monday evenings at 5:30 PM, generally the second and fourth Monday of the month, with special meetings called as needed.
- Where
- Ketchum City Hall, 191 5th Street West, Ketchum
- Remote
- Zoom, joined from the city's agenda center.
- Public comment
- In person or on Zoom at the meeting.
- Written comment
- Submitted through the city's public comment form before noon on the day of the meeting. Written comment is printed in the meeting packet.
The portal carries 2026 agendas and packets. It publishes no minutes, and its year selector offers no earlier year, so the council's record before 2026 is not on the city website. The city's archive center holds budgets, audits, comprehensive plans and public notices, and no council record.
