In April 2022 the Nampa City Council authorized a $1,058,000 contract with Motorola for an Intelligent Video Analytics System: 60 cameras over 30 intersections, video management and analytics software, on a server in the Public Safety Building. A million dollars of it was federal pandemic recovery money.
Nampa's $4.2 million Intelligent Transportation System has two halves. One lays fiber and cameras across the city. The other rebuilds part of the Public Safety Building into a traffic monitoring center, an emergency operations center and a real time crime center. The council authorized the bidding on its consent agenda.
In January 2023 the Nampa City Council approved, on its consent agenda, an agreement letting the city put multi-lane plate readers, fish-eye cameras and pan-tilt-zoom cameras on 39 intersections the Idaho Transportation Department owns or controls. A police captain administers the agreement.

Canyon County, Caldwell and Nampa share the cost of Cellebrite software that unlocks and extracts seized phones, and a server to archive what comes off them. The Sheriff's Office pitched it in 2023 as a way to build a database of phones the agencies could cross-check.
